About Me
Saeed Hadipoor Salestani
1989, Tehran, Iran
Between 2007 and 2021, I spent much of my time exploring the wilderness of Iran—without a car and with nothing more than a backpack. Around the same time, I began studying law at university. My time in nature sparked a deep passion for photography. After graduating and just before starting my military service, I bought my first professional camera using the money from my first job.
After completing my service, I was eager to discover other parts of the world—but I didn’t have the financial means, the motivation to plan extensively, or any interest in joining group tours. Everything changed after I read a series of travelogues that inspired me to plan my first international trip—starting from the cradle of human evolution. The endless, awe-inspiring plains of the Maasai Mara had always fascinated me. I planned a 9-day journey there, which I’ve documented on this site.
Soon after, the dramatic mountain landscapes of the Himalayas completely captivated me. I embarked on a 16-day trek through Nepal’s Everest region, another journey you’ll find featured here. Generally speaking, ethnography wasn’t something that intrigued me—but the chance to live with people whose way of life still mirrors that of Paleolithic humans proved irresistible. I spent time with nomadic tribes living south of the Arctic Circle, in northwestern Siberia—a journey far more challenging to plan than the previous two.
My time in the Himalayas, and the long days spent in the high mountains, transformed me deeply. That experience ignited my desire to explore the untouched Karakoram range in Pakistan, which eventually led to a 22-day expedition to the K2 region.
Now, after nearly two decades of travel, it’s become almost impossible to hide the duality between my life as a legal consultant on Instagram and my identity as an adventurer in the professional world. But sharing these experiences, I believe, might inspire others and offer them a different kind of guidance.
